So at the urging of a few people I finally set up a youtube account! Woo Hoo! I even made my first video! I grabbed a bag and sat on my living room floor. I start laughing part of the way through, but decided just to use this video. This was my first take and I didn't edit it.

Just missed a 70% sale

I missed a great sale this weekend! One of the stores in San Diego called Latitudes is closing and they had everything in their store on sale for 70% off! The store is in Seaport Village and one of my coworkers works in a store next to Latitudes, so on Saturday I got a text about the sale and a she sent me a couple of pictures! I was so tempted to go check it out, but this last weekend was Comic Con and downtown was kind of crazy. I wasn't up to running downtown and trying to find a place to park. Plus I was on my way to a birthday party and didn't know how long I would be downtown if I couldn't parking, so I skipped the sale. Monday ended up being a busy day, so I didn't even think about the sale. So it was yesterday before I thought about the sale again. I called the store to see if they had any Vera Bradley left and then had transferred it all to their store in Old Town and it is no longer on sale. What a bummer! I know I am trying to see how long I can go without purchasing anything, but I can't imagine seeing 70% off again! Well I guess you save even more money if you don't buy anything at all.

Twitter and my own website!

So I am a little behind the times, but the blog is finally on Twitter! I don’t know what took me so long, but I am glad that I am finally on there. I thought about it a while back, but since I hadn’t used it before, I didn’t sign up. Well now you can all follow the blog on twitter at http://twitter.com/OhMyVera.

I also finally purchased OhMyVera.com! This is another thing that I almost did a while back, but was hesitant. I talked to my parents this weekend and decided to finally purchase it. It now works on all of the computers I have tried, so I am guessing it will work for you too!

I have one that are Pinwheel Pink and the other are Purple Punch. I was lucky enough to find one pair at TJ Maxx a while back and the other pair I pick up at a Vera Bradley store onsale.

2 Weeks - No New Vera

This might not seem like a long time to some of you, but I havent purchased any Vera for two weeks! Nothing from the store, online, craigslist, ebay, etc. I am excited to see how long I can go without purchasing anything. The solid navy bags are going to be kind of tempting, but I should probably wait until they go on sale.

Count the Vera

So whenever I go on vacation with my friend Melissa she always makes me count how many pieces of Vera Bradley I have with me. Everything counts from tote bags to luggage tags. So when we all got together last week Melissa had me count it all.

There are 19 in the photo, but I forgot to take my Raspberry Fizz ipod cover out of my purse. Plus this doesnt count my new purchases. S0 that means I had 20 Vera Bradley things with me! I am still not counting the new items, because they didnt travel with me up there.

VB On Campus Catalog Fall 2010

My VB On Campus Catalog arrived on Friday. This thing is huge! It is 15 inches x 11 inches. It is like reading the newspaper. And it had lots of cute pictures of some of the new bags.

How many days can I be Vera free?

One more thing to post about today. I havent purchased any Vera for a whole week! I wonder how long I can go. My family and friends always tease me that I can't go for very long and when I say that I am going to not buy Vera for a while they say yeah right. So one week, that is a great start!

Maybe I will add a counter to the side of the blog. That might be the motivation that I need to keep going.

Signature Store Visit to check out Fall 2010 Line

The Fall 2010 colors are out and I didn’t go wild in the store! It is amazing!

On Friday morning I woke up at Amber’s house and was ready to go! Our friends Alissa and Tory met up with us and we were on our way. Roseville is just outside Sacramento, maybe 20 minutes.

This has to be the most amazing part of the day – We pulled into the parking spot and I was ready to jump out of the car. When I opened the car door, guess what was sitting there??? A $20 bill! Woo Hoo! My lucky day!

We went inside and we all started looking at all of the new stuff. Amber was drawn to the Barcelona and I wasn’t really drawn to any of it. I was kind of surprised. I looked at the new styles, but I didn’t feel like I HAD to have any of them. I really like the Julia, but I really am more of a big purse kind of person. I like to be able to open my purse and throw everything in. So I thought that I would like the Side by Side, but I don’t really like how the pockets look like they stick out. I knew I wanted a purple bag, so I started checking out what I thought would be good in Simply Violet. (I take some time to warm up to colors I guess)

I was going to get an Angle Tote in Simply Violet, but I also had to make an exchange for my Loves Me Alice. My Alice was tearing a little bit on the corner where the metal was. I have only used it a handful of times and I am not that rough with my bags. So the woman suggested trying a different color to see if the wearing wouldn’t show up as much. Plus in the newer colors the metal doesn’t have such defined edges, they kind of rolled them more. Hard to describe, but if you compare the first set that came out with the new color ones, you will see what I am talking about. So I decided to get an Alice in Simply Violet. But I still wanted a Loves Me bag, so I decided to get an Angle Tote in that color.

I had to pick something up in a new color, so I decided that I really wanted an Emma (Again, I guess it just takes me a while to warm up to the new designs) So I got an Emma in Very Berry Paisley. It is so cute! I love it!!!

We spent over an hour and a half in the store! We were having them get us bags in different colors, trying all sorts of bags, checking out the new ones (we thought we picked up a Metropolitan with a defect, turns out that hole is so that you could slide it on the handles of your suitcase! Haha) and just chatting, we had a lot of catching up to do.

Amber got a Cooler bag in Barcelona and a Zip Id Case in Very Berry Paisley. Tory made her first ever Vera Bradley purchases! She picked up a Lanyard in Very Berry Paisley and a Small Cosmetic bag in Hope Garden. Alissa had way too much self-control and ended up not getting anything. Way to go Alissa!




We had such a great time! I loved looking at all of the new bags. The women were so friendly and helpful! The new Frill is great! So far I only have one piece, but sooner or later I might have to pick up a couple of things. I really like some of the prints! I took a bunch of pictures, so I will post more of them tomorrow!

I had a Vera sighting while watching Bethany Getting Married? a couple of weeks ago and totally forgot to post it because I took it with my regular camera. I normally use my blackberry so I can upload it right when I take it.

Bethany did a bottle signing for her Skinny Girl Margarita's and one of the women had a Frankly Scarlet Hipster.

PS. I love Bravo! If I could only watch one channel, I would totally survive on Bravo.

I'm back

I am back from vacation, but didn't leave myself enough time to write this morning. I had a great time at the signature store! We were there for over one and a half hours! I didn't go crazy shopping though, only picked up a couple things and only one is in a new color. I promise to tell you all about it tomorrow!

Puccini - The Street Cat

I am still in Sacramento, I fly home tonight. Last night Amber and I pulled up to her town house and there was a cat running in the street. I pointed it out to Amber because it looked like a kitten, she said, "Oh, that is Puccini, the street cat." I guess he has been around for a while and lives on her street and she was talking about the cat at work. She asked her co workers wouldn't it be funny if the cat was named after a Vera Bradley bag...and since the cat had similar coloring to Puccini that's what she named the cat. Her co workers think she is becoming addicted to Vera Bradley bags. I might have to agree. If you are naming cats after patterns, then you are probably addicted.

Going to the Signature Store today!

Yay! I finally get to check out the new colors and styles. My friends Amber, Alissa and Tory are going with me. As far as I know Tory has never been before, I hope we don't overwhelm her. I will try to take some photos and upload them while I am there.

I probably won't really be blogging a whole lot until Wednesday because I am on vacation visiting a bunch of my college friends and will be bouncing from house to house.

Today is the Day! Fall 2010!

The day is finally here! The Fall 2010 colors and styles are out today!

They are on verabradley.com already! I am not going to see them until tomorrow because I have so much going on today! I'm about to run out of the door to the dentist, then I head straight to work. After work I have softball and then I get on a plane to Sacramento! Tomorrow morning I am going to Signature Store in Roseville (Sacramento) and I can't wait!!!

Oh, by the way, I am watching the QVC Vera Bradley segment that I taped from 3am. I am getting excited, I think that I might want a Side by Side. I am trying to hold of on deciding until I see everything in person.

QVC - Thursday, July 8th

Vera Bradley is going to be on QVC again to launch the new Fall colors. It is a lot of fun to watch because you get to see someone from Vera Bradley describe the bags and show off all of the features. If you cant get to the store, this is probably the next best thing.

They also usually have great pricing. Sometimes they pair items together and give a discount. QVC is definitely worth checking out because you might be able to save a few bucks.

On the west coast the shows are airing at 3am and 1pm. 3am, is a little early, but I am tempted to get up an watch it. And I will be at work for the 1pm. I set my DVR to tape both. My other option is to get up an hour early and watch the 3am episode around 6am before I go to work. That is probably what I will do. I know sometimes stuff sells out, but I wonder if it will sell out that early in the morning. I have never ordered anything when the offer it the first time around anyways. I have always waited for QVC's clearance pricing.

Overspend Much?

Have you ever noticed that you are willing to pay more for something just because Vera Bradley made it? This happens to me, mostly with accessories. For example, last time I called the Signature Store to buy a Hipster I asked if they had water bottles still. She told me that they did and they were $25. I said I would take one. Well then I got it and I had a what was I thinking moment. $25 for a watter bottle? If I was at WalMart or Target I would probably even think $10 was too much.

I am still tempted to buy a yoga mat, but just can't rationalize paying so much for it.

Oh well, this is going to work out to my advantage. I have decided to return my water bottle, so that is $25 I can spend on the new collection. My boss also was going to give me a gift card for a project that I had worked on. I still didnt get it, so I asked if I could just take care of it and buy the gift card and expense it. I even told her it was for Vera Bradley :) So of course she said yes. Now I am up to $50 to spend on the Fall Collection. This just keeps getting better and better.
