What is Your Most Unique/Rare Vera Bradley Item?

Thank you to OhMyVera reader Sparky who sent me this cute photo of the Vera Bradley bear she has in French Blue. The bear is using a Holiday 95 bag and a Chanticleer mini Paddy bag.  All rare and unique Vera Bradley items, so that made me wonder what other rare or unique items everyone has.  

I have a Laurel small bag that I dont ever see anyone else carrying, and I dont even know what the style is called.  It has a long braided strap so that it can be worm crossbody or on your shoulder.  Comment below and share your unique Vera Bradley item!

Vera Bradley Leather Trim Caroline

Vera Bradley released the Spring 2013 colors in their leather trim bags on January 24th! In addition to the bags they had in the winter, they added Caroline for the spring.  And the Caroline has two leather color option for each pattern.

Vera Bradley Outlet Sale Information 2013 #VBOS13

The Vera Bradley Outlet Sale is probably the biggest Vera Bradley event of the year!  It is still on my bucket list, but when you work in events it can be hard to get to.  Every April I am working the weekend of the outlet sale.   This year's Vera Bradley Outlet Sale (Twitter hashtag #VBOS13) will be April 9-14 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.   Tickets will be required for April 9, 10 & 11 and admission is free April 12, 13 & 14.  Tickets for the first three days are $5 and will go on sale February 1st.  They are not currently listed on Ticketmaster, but that is how they were available last year.  
For ticketed days, you will have to buy a ticket for a specific session.  Session times are 7:30am - 10:00am, 11:00am - 1:30pm, 2:30pm - 5:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:30pm.  There are 3,500 tickets available for each session.  Each customer can buy up to eight tickets. 
Hours for April 12 & 13 are 8:00am - 8:00pm, and April 14 is 10:00am - 4:00pm.  
Note: parking is $4 for the main lot and $8 in the preferred lot. 
Last year there was a $3,500 maximum per person.  I would assume that it will be the same again this year.
You can get all kinds of great deals at the outlet sale!  Plus you never know what you might find.  They will have retired colors and styles, some current stuff and sometimes even retired styles in current colors or the opposite.

Weekend Wrap Up

Just a couple of fun things to post from over the weekend, first the winner of the $150 Giveaway from Ebates!  Rafflecopter randomly selects a winner and the winner is: Lila K!  
This weekend I made a last minute decision to go to the Presidential Inauguration and I am really glad that I did!  I was mostly afraid of how cold it would be, but I bundled up and stayed warm!  Makes you feel patriotic like Independence Day!

So now lets get onto the Grand Cosmetic!  This bag is huge and I can't wait to use it on a trip.  It is 11 ½" x 7 ¾" x 4 ½" with 3 ½" handle drop.  It is going to be perfect for holding full size bottles.  Also my blow dryer will probably fit in there if I ever have to take it along.

A Colorful Day - Happening or Not Happening in April 2013??

Update 1/17/13: A Colorful Day will not be happening in 2013. 
At A Colorful Day in Orlando back in October Vera Bradley announced that the next A Colorful Day event would happen in April in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  They haven't announced a date yet though, which has caused a lot of people to inquire about when this event actually will happen.  There has been lots of speculation that it will happen around the Vera Bradley Outlet Sale (April 10-14).  By the way...tickets for the VBOS go on sale February 1.  I have had friends who have called Vera Bradley customer service to ask about the date and have been told the event is still on for April, but they don't have any other details yet.  Another called and was told we would know by February 1st.  But the most interesting and troublesome information came from an OhMyVera reader who emailed Inside Stitch and got this reply:

Really???  You aren't going to host an event you told a room full of women you going to have in April?  Why get everyone's hopes up?  I have friends who travel from all over to attend EVERY A Colorful Day experience.  Surely this must be some sort of mix up.   So is it happening or not happening?  I guess we will just have to keep waiting to find out.

Recent Vera Bradley Purchases

So this release has been a little different, I have been so busy I still havent made it to a Vera Bradley store.  I am hoping to maybe go this weekend.  So I have done a little shopping online...but not all for the Spring items. The purchases below are in no particular order. 

First up is my new Plum Crazy Fringe Scarf!  I am in love with this style scarf and think I need all four colors! They were sold out on verabradley.com on the release day, so I headed over to QVC to buy it.  It was a little cheaper on QVC, but the shipping made it go back up to about full retail price.  But I was able to use Ebates to get cash back and their shipping is super fast! It arrived in two days. 

Vera Bradley was on Rue La La's Sunday Styleathon and I picked up a couple things: Twirly Birds Navy Cosmetic Trio and a Hanging Organizer in Night and Day. 

Although, after my friend Jill shared this photo of her Grand Cosmetic bag I knew I had to have one.  It is so large and will hold so much stuff.  So I jumped on Ebags to buy one and it should arrive this week! So I am not sure I need the Hanging Organizer.

 On New Year's Eve Vera Bradley had a sale for an extra 20% off all sale items!  I had been eyeing a belt for a while, so I decided to order one.  I also needed a new wall calendar for work.  The belt ended up being $13.92 and the calendar was $6.72.  Pretty good way to start off the New Year! 

I have some ideas about shopping Vera Bradley this year, which include not paying full price.  Last year I was pretty good about using coupons and taking advantage of sales, but I wonder if I can be better this year.  I think I will write up a post about it when I get a chance.

Spring 2013 Release Day!!

Today's the day! Last night I went to bed a little after 10:00 p.m. and woke up at Midnight to watch about an hour and a half of the two hour Vera Bradley segment on QVC.  It is always fun to watch them describe the bags and get a good look at them before I head to the store.  Liz on Location from Vera Bradley was there for the segment. 
The Today's Special Value item on QVC is a Vera Bradley Travel bag and cosmetic bag for just $69.86 (reg $120).  QVC has special QVC pricing on other new items as well, but just watch for shipping, they charge per item, but will give a discount on shipping if you buy more items.
